About the Image Rotate & Flip
Fix sideways photos and flip images in seconds. Rotate in clean 90° steps clockwise or anticlockwise, mirror horizontally like a reflection, or flip vertically to rescue an upside-down scan — alone or combined. The transformation is a lossless pixel remap done in your browser, so the download is exactly as sharp as the original. Phone photos, scanned documents and forwarded images that arrived sideways are fixed in two clicks.
The sideways-file problem
Anyone who handles documents digitally meets this constantly: a marksheet photographed in portrait but saved landscape, a PDF-boundary screenshot rotated by a careless crop, a certificate forwarded through WhatsApp lying on its side. Upload systems rarely rotate for you, and some reject such files outright. This tool bakes the correction permanently into the file — unlike a viewer's temporary rotate, the downloaded image is upright everywhere it goes.
Rotation and flipping, technically
The Left and Right buttons turn the image in exact 90° increments — quarter turns only, no fiddly arbitrary angles — and the canvas swaps width and height automatically, so a portrait photo becomes genuinely landscape rather than squeezed. Flip H mirrors left-to-right; Flip V turns it top-to-bottom. All four operations combine freely: rotate 90° and flip vertically produces the same result as rotating the other way, which is occasionally the fastest route. Mathematically these are rigid transforms — every source pixel maps to exactly one destination pixel, which is why nothing blurs or degrades, generation after generation.
Flipping cautions
A horizontal mirror is wonderful for design balance and hopeless for anything containing language: flipped text reads backwards and will be rejected on forms, certificates and watermarked documents. Flip V is the honest fix for scans that fed through upside down. One reassuring note for camera photos: browsers honour the orientation tag embedded by phones, so a photo that previews upright rotates from upright — you are correcting what you see, not fighting hidden metadata.
Fitting rotation into a workflow
Typical chain: rotate upright → crop away scanner borders → resize to required pixels. Each step is a separate tool on this site, each processes locally, and each hands its output straight to the next. Since the rotate step exports PNG losslessly, stacking steps costs nothing in quality except what you deliberately crop away.
